It is my pleasure to welcome you to our fantastic school.
Family atmosphere
What stands out the most to me in my role as Headteacher is that Myland is a wonderful
community primary school with people at the heart of it. Our greatest assets are our sta昀昀,
pupils and families and we all care a lot about each other. This means that despite being
a large and oversubscribed school, we retain an incredibly special family feel that visitors
always comment on.
A welcoming environment
We are committed to providing a welcoming environment that inspires children to learn,
stimulates their imaginations and encourages them to become con昀椀dent individuals. This is
a place where children can be themselves, have fun and make friends; it’s also a place where
they can thrive academically by being challenged in lessons that stretch them to extend their
expectations of themselves.
A broad, balanced curriculum
Our curriculum is a de昀椀nite strength of our school; we have worked tirelessly to design a
curriculum that is both ambitious and memorable, as well as broad and balanced. Our innovative
and dynamic lessons are as rich and inspiring as our superb facilities - which allow our children to
learn indoors and outdoors all year round.
Excellent outcomes
The school has exemplary results across the board and we are recognized nationally for our
expertise in teaching phonics, early reading and language. We are one of only 34 DfE-designated
English hubs in the country and, in this capacity, we support other schools to improve their
practice.
Dedicated sta昀昀
Our most recent Ofsted report says we are “good school with an outstanding Early Years
provision”. We couldn’t achieve this standard without our team of dedicated teachers and support
sta昀昀, who make our school a brilliant place to learn. Careful planning and adept delivery ensure a
high-quality learning experience across the range of subjects covered by the national curriculum.
